History of Lambda Gamma Chapter of
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International
On Saturday, January 19, 1980, at Aldine High School, Houston, Texas, at 10:00 a.m., Zeta Nu organized two new chapters of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Lambda Gamma became the two hundred sixty-seventh chapter to be organized in a most impressive installation performed by Lagina Hale, State Expansion Chairman. Those assisting Lagina were: Mary Rowlette, Alpha State President; Virginia Grove, Executive Secretary-Treasurer; Carolyn Larrison, Second Vice-President; Karen Duke, Recording Secretary; and Margie Scott, Area I Coordinator. The school areas of Waller, Brookshire, and Cypress-Fairbanks will be served by the Lambda Gamma Chapter.

February 2, 1980 was set as our first meeting date for the organizing of our program of work for the year. A presentation of the two volumes of OUR HERITAGE was made to Mrs. Ellen Lane, Zeta Nu’s first president, in remembrances of all the lovely things she means to all of us.
The thirteen new chapter members are: Betty Adams, Mary Alice Boren, Eva Bundick, Mae Dollar, Christina Hallmark, Carolyn Holt, Dorothy Kizer, Winifred Mason, Marlene Pennington, Velma Rollins, Ruth Shurbet, Berdie Marie Smith, and Rosa Lee Yeager.
Refreshments were enjoyed and the meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
